I am a sinner,
and yet, I am forgiven
and yet, I want to see heaven
and yet, I can't stop
and yet, I want to reach the top
I am a sinner,
and yet, I make mistakes
and yet, God loves me
and yet, I say I am free
I am a sinner,
but I don't look back
and say I am sorry
All I do is feel sad,
sit and worry
that Jesus died for me,
but I still break God's Law.
I am a sinner
who lies
who cheats
who doesn't honor her parents
who calls God's name in vain.
I am a sinner
who will try to do her best
who studies and does well on tests
who wants to make a difference in life
who wants to achieve goals,
but never holds up a knife!
-Noxolo Mzamo
This is so human, Noxolo. Who can't relate to this one? Whether or not any given reader identifies as a sinner, we all know ourselves to be full of contradictions.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this view into you, a writer with a well developed social conscience. Lovely work here.
